Norway Targets Lost Fishing Gear in Annual Ocean Cleanup
The Directorate of Fisheries in Norway has carried out annual ocean cleanups for more than 40 years, targeting lost or abandoned fishing gear — often called ghost gear.
The cleanup vessel "M/S Vikingbank" set out from Ålesund and will work its way along the fishing grounds to Kirkenes under the leadership of Gjermund Langedal, a project manager and expedition manager with the Directorate of Fisheries.
